PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Voice Over is a highly competitive and growing field. Please be sure to do your research before investing in your training! I personally recommend working with professionals who actively work in the field in which you are most interested. Your time is just as valuable as anyone else's and there are unfortunately "coaches" out there who will waste it. Do your due diligence :)
Red Flags from "Coaches" I've seen
1. Lack of Working Credits - Does your coach work? Are they working now? Are their credits hard to find or vague? Having one or two animation credits may not qualify someone to be coaching professionally; proceed with caution.
2. Lack of Specific Info - Kinda, Sorta, I Don't Know... Sound familiar? Classes are great, but you should know who you are working with. How long have they been working? What has their journey been like? What is their name? (Yes, I've seen classes that don't share that info with you.)
3. Demo Reel Included! - Don't fall for these. If you are looking for a demo, you should be at the point where you have been training or working toward it for a considerable amount of time. If you are ready for a true demo, you and whoever is working with you as a coach will know. (And be honest about it) Programs that offer demos at the end of training, tend not to be all that trustworthy in my experience. This is not a get rich quick industry~
WHY WORK WITH BRANDON?
1. 10+ years of industry experience across NYC, DFW, and LA markets
2. I have been lucky enough to continue to work regularly in the realm of Anime/ADR, Animation, Video Games, and Commercial VO Work with indie and AAA clients. IMDb here
3. I am experienced with working with two of the top VO Agencies in the Nation.
4. I live here. I've both seen the journey and live it daily. VO and the entertainment industry in general can be tough, but being prepared can help you take it on.
5. I want to see you grow in confidence as both a Talent and a person. Acting is vulnerable, and you deserve a space where honesty and self discovery are center stage. I take an "Acting First" approach to Voiceover. If you don't have the basics, we start there before moving up into the technical and business side of Voiceover. If I believe we aren't a fit, I won't take your money. I will give you the resources and next steps that I believe would suit you better.
